Hi,
I hope you are well and able to Let Go of all things.

Please note about 6 weeks ago there were some changes
to the Timetable (Click Here to see them).

*
TRY THIS!

Every morning, for 5 minutes,
as soon as you get up,
whip through some light Sun Salutes.

These are the sequences of poses
- the simple version has 7 positions -
and they are a great way to wake up the body.

Remember to keep them easy and light (not strenuous)
and these will have a remarkable health effect.
Possible remarks might be: "Oh, that's refreshing!";
or "My, that woke me up!"; or "Hello Superman!";
or who knows what other remarks you may come up with (!).

Health benefits during Winter:
1) helps clear a cold;
2) stimulates your metabolism;
3) frees up tight back;
4) clears the digestion;
5) improves blood circulation;
6) may inspire remarks.

LETTING GO

We are the sum of our Pasts.

All our thoughts come from the past
- on an Unconscious level we will only ever think about
that which we have not resolved -
and the tension in our muscles is also
directly related to what we have not been able to let go of.

While many modern Yoga styles now focus upon CONTROL,
this was never the real intent of Yoga,
and the most developed Yoga types
will not have tight bodies nor tight minds (nor tight hearts).

Rather, they will be deeply relaxed people,
with free personalities, and a great ability to LET GO.

Digestive problems are obviously related
to people not being able to completely let go
(read: Constipation), and so long as the body is tight
the arteries and veins get squeezed,
hence higher blood pressure occurs, hence more heat,
which affects the immune and lymphatic systems,
affecting stress, health, and happiness.

Every therapist or psychologist understands the notion
that people need to resolve their pasts - completely -
if they are ever to be really happy.
Yoga goes further and says "...if they are ever to be Healthy".

The BIG SIGH is a great way to Let Go.
It actually trains the muscles.
Try this, often, for wonderful benefits!

YOGA FOR DEPRESSION!

It recently occurred to me how to fix Depression
and so far I've conducted one workshop
with a group of 11 people.

Already I've spoken to 2 people who were there,
and they have both continued to use the tools at home,
and they have both found benefit so far.

Only time will tell on the level of success here,
as even though many enjoyed the session,
the real results need to come over the next month or two.

It's quite simple.
I worked out exactly the pranic nature of Depression
- and know exactly what to do to correct this.

So I'm offering regular workshops on this.
The first one was completely Booked Out,
so the next one is on Sunday July 12th 1-3pm.

COST $20.

This workshop will offer
the simple practices that will stop Depression.

Suits most able-bodied people,
it will be evident by the end of the workshop
how these techniques work,
and how if practised at home
they will certainly change one's life.

Bookings also available for the July 19th.
10 spots now available.
It's fine to drop in without booking,
you just take the chance.

To Book a place, Contact Toby

Try not to eat 2hrs before session.

UPCOMING WORKSHOP:
PRANAYAMA - The Art of Breathing
Advanced Yoga for All levels.

Sunday June 21st 1-3pm
Cost $20

A 2hr Workshop on the The Science of Breath Expansion.

This session will change your Life.

A gentle session exploring the Breath and all its possibilities.
There are hundreds of breath exercises,
and you will be guided through many.

Everyone who can breathe is able to do this session.
It will totally change the way Yoga is understood.

It will also explain how the breath is a key to Health.
Anyone who can't orchestrate the breath easily
and with great control, will be psychologically tight.
This will affect their state of mind, and Health.

On the other hand, all problems can be changed by good breathing.

It's so easy to learn. And deeply relaxing. Try it.

Bookings can be made. 11 spots available.
It's fine to drop in without booking,
you just take the chance.

Try not to eat 2hrs before session.

HEALTH REPORT
from Doctor Qu'ac

I've recently tried two alternative therapies,
here are the results:

COLLOIDAL SILVER

Colloidal Silver is liquid Silver - which is an alternative
anti-biotic that is best used to eliminate a virus,
fungus, bacterium, or any other single-celled pathogen.

It's probably best used when someone has a problem,
or after an operation as a way to remove toxins and medication
...but I felt like giving it a go anyway just for fun
to see what it might do.

Well I didn't notice anything.
But it was fun trying it!

NETI POT

Now this is a real Winner
and I've noticed clear and wonderful results here.

I used to get pretty bad Hay Fever
and so last spring decided to use this every morning.
The Neti Pot (as seen on Oprah(!)
is a small pot which is filled with warm water and salt,
then gently poured through (up)one nostril and out the other.

It might seem wierd but is a well-known
therapy for sinus problems.
The water picks up and removes dust, mucus, etc...

Swara Yoga (the most advanced and subtle art of Yoga)
recognises the nostrils as a central area for mental/emotional balance,
and quite simply, if the flow of Swara is imbalanced
then this will manifest as illness, unhappiness, anger, stress...

Since last year I've done it every day except 2 (I forgot),
and there is no doubt my sinus area is incredibly free,
it's like I've got a huge thoroughfare there.
My breathing is so wonderfully free it feels amazing.
The hay fever was much diminished during spring,
and curiously, on the 2 days I didn't do it,
I actually noticed an increased sense of Anxiety
underpinning my normal emotions.
Swara Yogis would not be surprised at this.

Clay Neti Pots are available from Toby, cost $30.

THERAPIES:

TAI CHI

Tai Chi is one of the most beautiful things
I have ever seen or done.
I am greatly influenced by it, and highly recommend it.

Yoga and Tai Chi are brother and sister to each other.

Tai Chi may well be considered a Martial Art,
as it mostly appears as a whole lot of fighting moves
slowed down in minute detail to crawling speed.
Basically, people are moving as slow as possible,
to accent the complicated union of muscles, fibres,
breath, Mind, time, and gravity.

Chi Qung is another aspect of Tai Chi,
and these practices are highly reminiscent
of the Yogic Pranayama practices.
These, which harness breath as a form of energy,
are used for great Health and Energy Awareness.

What I love about Tai Chi is its softness,
and its mastery of time and space through slowness.

There is a totally holistic approach,
where Health is a focus.
All movements are co-ordinated according
to the Chinese Medicine system
of Chi, blood-flow, organs, and meridians.

A deeply relaxing, therapeutic practice,
I urge everyone to try it.
Great discoveries are made.

What is: Karma?

I reckon Karma is grossly misunderstood and misused by westerners.
(It's natural that a mainstream mind-set will misappropriate
an advanced notion
by adding misled accents to it).
There is also the reasonable fallout caused by translation.

Karma is a sanskrit word and given that Yoga preceeds Buddhism
by about 2500 years, Karma is a Hindu concept rather than Buddhist.

Karma is a word for action (verb) - your karma is what you do.
It is not a received plan from the past that dictates
whether or not you are going to be lucky.

Life is not about what you want,
it is about what you do in the face of what IS.
It's all about what you know you have to do.

How do I see my own karma?
Well recently I reached the point
where I got over most of my past
and my fears and insecurities,
and realised that I'm here only to give.

So I work 7 days a week
helping people to find health and happiness.
There is nothing else for me to do.
This is my Karma.
It is actually a relief to know I have discovered this.

It might be a good investigation,
to ask yourself: What is my Karma?

Monthly Kirtan - New time and venue!
- No Longer at Land of Yoga -

Kirtan is the yogic practice of singing mantras to music.
This practice provides an opportunity to let go of the constant
mental chatter and instead rest in the space of the heart.
It is also a chance to give expression to any pent up emotions
through your own voice.
No singing experience is neccessary, all voices welcome!
Kirtan is now on the last SUNDAY of each month from 6.30-8.30pm.
The new venue is Prana House, 1/885 High Street in Thornbury
(on the 86 tram line).  $5 donation to cover costs.

Join us in our new beautiful space on Sunday 28th June.
We begin promptly with 108 rounds of the Mahamritunjaya (healing) Mantra followed by kirtan and a quick cuppa before finishing at 8.30.
All welcome!

For more info contact Chakra on 0402 432 467.
"Chanting opens the eyes of the heart."

Thanks everyone, hope you're all well.
Get someone else laughing, that's always nice.
