Hi Everyone,
I hope everything is cruising along just fine.
Now that its become cold so quickly,
don't forget to look after your body
and its blood circulation
by doing the occasional toe bends,
ankle rotations, knee bends, hip rotations;
shoulder rolls, elbow bends, wrist bends, and finger bends!

All of these being part of the Anti-Rheumatic practices
perfect for clearing the lanes, warming the limbs,
keeping the body vibrating evenly and smoothly.
A couple twists, and some neck exercises,
and you're Sorted!

DOCTOR QU'AC

I have recently been working with a friend who has leukemia.
This is clearly a serious situation,
and we have been seriously discussing what is possible,
at least from a Yoga perspective.

This issue has really highlighted to me how narrow
Western medicine seems to be.
My friend's doctors have recommended an intense
invasive process that is designed to KILL her cells
- not just the bad ones - as a means of slowing the breakdown.
From an energetic point of view, this idea is absurd.
To develop the depleted body,
killing parts of it would be a desperate move,
and the opposite of total healing, nurturing, utilising, etc...

Of course her doctors are doing their best,
its just that their understanding of the issue is very narrow.
Yoga will always relate to the mind and the body together.

Leukemia is mainly a breakdown in either the production of white cells
in the blood, or an immature development of these white blood cells.

So what we have been doing, of course, is an intensive
practise of Pranayama (breath-work).
Given that Pranayama is far more advanced than stretching,
its main aim is to purify the blood, via breath.
It is early days, but my understanding of these concepts
is that leukemia can certainly
be totally eradicated by the breath-work.
There are so many physiological reasons why,
and inside the concept of Consciousness,
everything/anything is ALWAYS possible, energetically.

Especially with blood problems, there is nothing
more perfect than Pranayama.
(Even if you don't believe in Prana - the Yogic concept
of Life-Giving Energy.)

So wish us luck.
And if you know anyone with leukemia,
tell them that I think I know how to stop it.

THEME FOR THE WEEK:

TALKING ABOUT THE FUTURE

Over the years I have noticed a human phenomenon
where people often talk about what they are going to do in the future.
The number of times people have told me
that they will come to Yoga on this or that day is amazing,
given how many times they don't do it.
And yet they continue to talk about doing it.

From a Yogic/Buddhist perspective,
this is not only irrational, but also unwise.

Yoga and Buddhism constantly talk about the NOW.
While ideas about the future are amusing - in the Now -
most people live in anticipation of what will happen.
It's very ironic how many of those things don't end up happening!

Why do people do this, then?
Are they preparing for something that hasn't yet happened?
Are they hoping? Wanting? Intending?

Being simplistic, it is only a control-freak
who thinks about the future.
People actually think the future can be controlled.
Yoga and Tantra will always highlight
that control is not necessary.
If we trust, whatever happens will be fine.
There's no need to project forwards.

So how do we learn from this?
Start noticing how many times you talk about
what might or will happen in the future.
And better, notice afterwards how many of these things
Do Not Happen!

Start to see the madness in this movement.
It is an Insight into the Human Psyche.

ASTROLOGY

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday
coinciding with the new moon in Aries (1.45pm).

ARIES - the Symbol of Initiative.
The force to set out in a wholly new direction,
to do what has never been done before.

So this might be a good time to put into action
changes you have not felt ready to make.

Thanks everyone,
take care of your bodies and your friends.

Hope to see you soon.
